# Shotlane

> Shotlane is a website screenshot, HTML-to-PDF and URL-to-Markdown API. One HTTP request renders any public URL or raw HTML in headless Chromium and returns PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. Pricing is prepaid credit packs that never expire (no subscription): $9 for 2,000 renders, $29 for 10,000, $79 for 40,000. New accounts get 100 free renders.

## API
- Base URL: https://shotlane.dev
- Auth: header `X-API-Key: <key>` (or `Authorization: Bearer <key>`, or `?access_key=<key>`)
- `GET|POST /v1/screenshot` params: url | html, format (png|jpeg|webp|pdf), width, height, full_page, scale (1-3), selector, dark_mode, hide_cookie_banners, block_ads, delay (ms), wait_until (load|domcontentloaded|networkidle), quality, user_agent, cache_ttl (s; cache hits are free), download
- `GET|POST /v1/pdf`: same params plus paper (A3|A4|A5|Letter|Legal|Tabloid), landscape, print_background
- `GET|POST /v1/extract` (JSON) and `/v1/markdown` (text/markdown): render page with JS and return clean Markdown. Params: url | html, main_content (default true), selector, include_links, include_images
- Page options for all endpoints: device (desktop|desktop_hd|laptop|ipad|iphone|iphone_se|pixel|galaxy), css, js, hide_selectors, click, wait_for_selector, headers (JSON, sent only to target host), cookies ("a=1; b=2"), omit_background
- `GET /v1/account`: remaining credits
- Signed URLs for <img> embeds: params sorted + form-encoded, HMAC-SHA256 with secret key, append `key=<public key>&signature=<hex>`
- Errors: JSON {"error": "..."}; 401 bad key, 402 out of credits, 422 page failed to load. Failed renders are not charged.
