Why this matters

Assistants answer from pages they can fetch. If robots.txt blocks their crawlers, your content needs JavaScript to appear, or a bot wall sits in front of it, the assistant either can't cite you or cites someone else.

Search and "user request" crawlers (OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, Claude-User, Perplexity-User) are the ones that put you in answers. Training crawlers are a separate choice.
